Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has an opportunity to surpass Zaheer Khan for the list of most wickets as Indian in South Africa. To note, veteran Anil Kumble tops the list with 45 wickets in just 12 matches. The second on the list is Javagal Srinath who took 43 wickets in eight games.
Express pacer Mohammed Shami (35 wickets) comes third on the list, but he is not a part of the upcoming IND vs SA Test series. The left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan is next with 30 dismissals in eight outings. Speaking about Bumrah, he has taken 26 wickets in just six matches in South Africa and has the chance to go past Zaheer or even Shami if he manages to get more than nine wickets in the IND vs SA Test series.

Jasprit Bumrah has toured South Africa two times to play Tests. He has played six Tests against the Proteas and all of them have been in South Africa. In fact, the now 30-year-old made his debut in South Africa nearly six years ago and hasn’t looked back in his career.
As stated above, Jasprit Bumrah has 26 wickets to his name from those six Tests in South Africa. He also has two five-wicket hauls to his name. Along with Bumrah, only Javagal Srinath, Mohammed Shami, Venkatesh Prasad and Sreesanth have had multiple fifers in South Africa.
