Jasprit Bumrah scales mount 300, equals Malinga for MI record

Bumrah now has 170 wickets for MI, equalling Lasith Malinga's record.

Jasprit Bumrah is a once in a generation bowler. One of the finest of his craft, the Mumbai Indians pacer has managed to carve his own legacy over the years. And such is the 30-year-old’s proclivity for records, Bumrah smashed a few more even on a rather off day in the SRH vs MI clash in Hyderabad.

Bumrah dismissed the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen with the final ball of his spell on Wednesday. The Proteas ace thus became his 300th scalp in T20 cricket. Bumrah is only the second Indian pacer after Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the milestone. Overall he’s 5th, joining Ravichandran Ashwi, Yuzvendra Chahal and Piyush Chawla in the list.

  1. Yuzvendra Chahal – 373
  2. Piyush Chawla – 319
  3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 318
  4. Ravichandran Ashwin – 315
