Highest individual List-A score

  • 277 – N Jagadeesan (Tamil Nadu vs Arunachal Pradesh), 2022
  • 268 – Alistair Brown (Surrey vs Glamorgan), 2002
  • 264 – Rohit Sharma (India vs Sri Lanka), 2014
  • 257 – D’Arcy Short (Western Australia vs Queensland), 2018
  • 248 – Shikhar Dhawan (India A vs South Africa A), 2013

The first cricketer in the world to do so, Jagadeesan hit his fifth consecutive List-A century.  Jagadeesan made the most of his current dip in the form as he utterly dismantled the Arunachal bowling attack. In just 76 balls, Jagadeesan reached his century, and then he kicked into high gear, scoring the next 100 runs in just 38. With 77 additional runs, Jagadeesan set the List-A record for the highest-even individual score and surpassed Rohit Sharma’s 264 and Ali Browns’ 268.

Records Broken

  • Jagadeesan now holds the WORLD RECORD for the highest score in List-A cricket.
  • With five consecutive hundreds, Jagadeesan has eclipsed Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara for the most in List A cricket history. (5)
  • Jagadeesan now also holds the record for the highest score in Vijay Hazare Trophy history. He went past Prithvi Shaw’s 227 from 2021.
  • Jagadeesan also surpassed Virat Kohli, Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devdutt Padikkal to score the most hundreds in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy edition.
  • With 15 sixes throughout his 277-run innings, Jagdeeshan smashed the most sixes ever in a List-A game.  Yashasvi Jaiswal held the previous record with 12 sixes.
  • Jagadeesan took just 114 balls for his double century, which is tied with Australias Travis Head for the fastest in men’s List A cricket.
  • Jagadeesan scored 799 runs in this edition, the second-most by a batter in a Vijay Hazare Trophy. Prithvi Shaw set the record for the most runs in a single edition with 827 during the 2020–21 season.
  • Jagadeesan and B Sai Sudharsan scored 416 partnership runs for the first wicket to become the first pair to record a 400-run stand for any wicket. The previous record was held by Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels’ 372-run partnership for the second wicket against Zimbabwe in 2015.
  • Tamil Nadu became the first side to surpass the 500-run mark. England previously held the record when it broke its own world record for the highest score in ODI cricket after amassing 498-4 against the Netherlands.
