Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) preparations in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season are in full flow. Today (March 15), the 2016 champions played an intra-squad simulation match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan shines in SRH A vs B match
SRH A and SRH B went toe-to-toe. With no restrictions, batters and bowlers plied their trades more than once. Of these players, Ishan Kishan looked the most impressive. He opened the batting for SRH A, alongside Abhishek Sharma. They were on fire from the start.
Kishan and Abhishek scored 21 runs in the first over, thrashing Kamindu Mendis. While the latter stopped at 28 (9), the former continues. Kishan went on to score a 16-ball fifty and was ultimately dismissed for 64 (23). By the end of the powerplay, SRH A was 106/2.
23-year-old Aniket Verma, who was bought for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction, was sizzled. He batted twice in the same innings, scoring 46 (17) and 28 (15). His two knocks propelled SRH A to 260.
Kishan then returned. He opened for SRH B with Atharva Taide this time around, but his start wasn’t as rapid. However, he went berserk. This time around, he brought up his half-century in 21 balls and then decided to return to the pavilion when he was unbeaten on 73 (30).
This bodes well for SRH and Kishan. Although he won’t be able to open with Abhishek and Travis Head present, if need be, he’ll be ready to fill that hole.
