Is KL Rahul playing today’s IPL match?

Is KL Rahul playing in today's IPL game, or is it just the calm before the storm? What happens if he doesn't play today against DC?

Is KL Rahul in the team? This is the question that every Lucknow Super Giants fan is asking after the heated conversation with Sanjiv Goenka, owner of LSG. It looks like things are really not looking good between LSG management and KL Rahul. A recent update that came into the scene is that KL Rahul didn’t travel with the team for the do-or-die Delhi Capitals clash. So the questions deserve to stay in focus, will KL Rahul play or not in the upcoming games?

What happened between KL Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka?

This all started after the last game, in which Lucknow Super Giant played against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Where Hyderabad, fair to say, swept LSG in no time. They chased down the target of 166 in 20 overs. It was caught on camera that LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was having an animated chat with KL Rahul after the humiliating loss. Since the video came out, LSG owner is getting bashed in and out. As no one accepts any athlete insults by owners.

Being an integral part since LSG’s inception, Rahul’s humiliation is surely unacceptable according to cricket fans. It will be interesting to see how KL will do after this season. Also, there have been several hashtags which are taking X by storm, such as #leaveLSG and #comebacktoRCB. Looking at all the scenarios, we can sense the turbulence in the LSG camp and surely everyone is curious to know that will KL Rahul will play today’s game or not.

Why Goenka went harsh on KL Rahul

From the owner’s perspective, yes, we can understand the amount of money that has been invested in him. Speaking about the KL Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka timeline, it is also a fact that the relationship between both of them has always been more sweet than bitter. LSG did really well in its first year in 2022 and consistently gave some memorable performances.

This is the reason everyone is hopeful after looking at the scenario; also, things might get a little easier. In the recent statement given by LSG assistant coach Lance Klusner, he said that “I don’t see any problem with some robust discussion between two cricket lovers. So for us, I guess it’s just a storm in a teacup. We love a robust discussion. I think that’s how teams get better. So, it’s not a big thing for us,” Klusner said during the pre-match press conference ahead of the match against the Delhi Capitals.
