Rajasthan Royals (RR) broke the bank for South African all-rounder Morris and brought him for 16.25 crores. Former RCB skipper Kohli was retained by the team in 20218 for 17 crores. KL Rahul was offered 17 crores by Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022.

1: Shreyas Iyer (Estimated amount 16 to 20 crores)
RCB, PBKS, and KKR have not announced captains for IPL 2022. India batter Shreyas Iyer is expected to be a hot property during mega auctions due to his leadership abilities. He has experience leading Delhi Capitals for two years. The right-hand batter led DC to their first-ever finals on IPL 2020. Iyer is dynamic, street-smart, and instinctive as a leader.
He also is a bankable middle-order batter. Reports suggest RCB have kept a 20 crores budget for the former DC captain.

2: Ishan Kishan (Estimated amount 12 to 16 crores)
India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan comes next on the list. His explosive batting for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019 and 2020 has catapulted him to a big league. Kishan scored 516 runs and hit 30 sixes during the 2020 IPL season. The southpaw was not retained by MI ahead of the mega auctions. Former India opener Aakash Chopra though suggests MI many target him during the auctions.
That though will come with a cost as other franchises like RCB, Ahmedabad and Lucknow also might target the pocket dynamite.

3: David Warner (Estimated price 10 to 16 crores)
Former SRH captain David Warner is back in the auction pool. He has set himself a base price of 2 crores. The southpaw’s exceptional record as an opener in the IPL should warrant a place in any T20 team. Add to that he is also an exceptional leader. He led SRH to their maiden victory in IPL 2016.

Warner has played 150 IPL games and has scored 5449 runs at an average of 41.6. The 35-year-old can play the anchor role and also the aggressor role to perfection. RCB, Lucknow, DC, and KKR might target him during auctions.

4: Shardul Thakur (Estimated price 12 to 17 crores)
All-rounder Shardul Thakur has rapidly risen to the fore in 2021. He was a regular member in all three formats of the game. All-rounders always tend to attract a lot of attention due to their effectiveness with bat and ball. With Ben Stokes not there, the spotlight is on Thakur, who has grown in stature as an all-rounder.
He was the leading wicket-taker for CSK in 2021 IPL. He also scored handy runs lower down the order. The former CSK player may trigger a bidding war during the mega auctions.

5: Yuzvendra Chahal (Estimated price 13 to 15 crores)
It is hard to see leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal playing for any other franchise apart from RCB. He has had that kind of impact. Chahal has been one of the strong pillars of the franchise and has ably carried the responsibility of leading RCB’s bowling attack. In all probability, RCB may target him, but it might come with a fierce bidding war from the rest of the teams.
A lot of teams do not have primary leg spinners in their team, and hence they would like to have the Haryana leg spinner.
