IPL 2022 Auction LIVE – IPL Auction 2022 LIVE: Day 1 of Auction will begin with MARQUEE SET of 10 players which almost every franchise or IPL Stakeholder believes will be the set of MOST WANTED PLAYERS.
The 1st set will include – R Ashwin / Trent Boult / Pat Cummins / Quinton De Kock / Shikhar Dhawan / Faf DuPlessis / Shreyas Iyer / Kagiso Rabada / Mohammad Shami / David Warner.
IPL Auction 2022 LIVE – IPL Auction LIVE Broadcast: In what sequence players will be auctioned? What will be the auction process?
- A Marquee Set of 10 Players will OPEN the AUCTION
- Other than this players have been divided into different sets based on their speciality.
- There are 62 sets altogether including the marquee set.
- The marquee set will be followed by a full round of capped players based on specialisation – batters, allrounders, wicketkeeper-batters, fast bowlers, and spin bowlers
- IPL Auction Day 2: Uncapped players will be the LAST SET of players in AUCTION sequence.
- Unlike the last mega auction in 2018, the IPL has decided not to have Right To Match option this time.
- The youngest player in this auction is Afghanistan’s 17-year-old Noor Ahmad. A left-arm wristspinner
- The oldest player in the auction is T20 veteran Imran Tahir. He was part of the victorious Chennai Super Kings squad in the 2021 edition and is currently 43.

IPL 2022 Auction LIVE – IPL Auction Day1 LIVE: Only 161 players will be up for bidding on Saturday. The second day will start with an accelerated bidding process.
What is the accelerated process? The accelerated process will only come into play on DAY 2 of auction i.e SUNDAY.
At the end of first day of the auction, the franchises will be asked to nominate, from the remaining pool, the players they are interested in.
Those players will go under the hammer on Sunday. This process could be repeated again if any franchise wants to further nominate unpresented/unsold until then.
IPL Auction 2022 LIVE – IPL Auction LIVE Broadcast: The auction will be broadcasted LIVE on the Star Sports network in India. The official broadcaster will broadcast the auction LIVE on 8 Network Channels & in 5 Languages.
