IPL trade: A day after KL Rahul's trade news, it is reported that, he won't be moving from DC to KKR.

Every report suggesting an IPL transfer from one team to another, seems like a rumour for now. The pattern is the same — a team shows interest in a player, which just fizzles out eventually, since the offer from the other side isn’t as lucrative. This year alone, many IPL trade talks have hit a dead end.

No KL Rahul to KKR

This time, it is Washington Sundar and KL Rahul. There were suggestions at a point, where Washi’s move from GT to CSK seemed certain; and then Rahul’s move from DC to KKR as well. But for now both are not happening, as per a fresh report in Cricbuzz.

For a brief time, KL Rahul’s IPL trade did seem like a reality, since there were also talks of Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi being exchanged, for Sanju Samson. Both Samson and Rahul are keeper-batter with leadership qualities.. KKR also need one keeper-opener for their side.

KKR Might Not Leave Varun or Rinku

But the problem with KKR is, they are not in a position to trade with any team, if not for their premium players like Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy, if they want Rahul or Samson. And Kolkata is not ready to let either of them go. In fact, Rahul is comfortably placed in DC, and if not for an excellent exchange offer, they might not be willing to consider.

“Why would we release our marquee player?” asked a DC source, as per Cricbuzz. But really remains certain is, players have no say in their trade. There are obviously contrasting reports emerging on Sanju Samson’s willingness to stay at RR.
