Shivam Mavi was yet to play for SRH after getting picked for INR 75 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been hit with another injury. The 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions had already lost Jack Edwards, David Payne and Brydon Carse during the 2026 season. Now Shivam Mavi has been ruled out.

SRH sign RS Ambrish as injury replacement

The bowling all-rounder was bought by SRH for his base price of INR 75 lakh at last year’s auction. Mavi was yet to play for SRH but has picked up a groin injury and won’t participate further in IPL 2026.

SRH has announced RS Ambrish as his replacement for INR 30 lakh for the remainder of the season. The 18-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder was part of the India Under-19 cricket team’s trophy-winning run at the Under-19 ODI World Cup 2026. Ambrish had taken 11 wickets in 7 matches, including a 3-fer in the final against England. He also played two valuable cameos against Zimbabwe and Pakistan.

Before heading to Zimbabwe and Namibia for the Under-19 World Cup, Ambrish had made his Ranji Trophy debut for Tamil Nadu against Nagaland in December 2025. He picked up 1 wicket but didn’t get a chance to bat. Ambrish subsequently played against Jharkhand, where he picked up 1 wicket and scored 43 runs (28 and 15) while batting at number 6 in the first innings and opening in the second. Ambrish has yet to play a T20 match but has featured for the Lyca Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
