IPL 2025 took a new turn in the week gone by, where the scales tilted in favour of the bowlers, and run-scoring wasn’t easy across venues. It was quite a few times that the teams were restricted under 100 and the 200-run mark was breached only twice, that too in the same match. Now, it is time to look at the best performers of the week, and compile an XI from it.

Yashasvi Jaiswal
Slowly Yashasvi Jaiswal has gone on to score over 300 runs in seven matches in IPL 2025, and that number was bolstered by the performances in the last week. Jaiswal continued his good form, and then scored 51 vs DC and 74 vs LSG. His average has risen to 38 in the tournament.
Virat Kohli
In eight matches, The Indian super star has amassed 322 runs and is a serious contender for the orange cap. With four fifties he has an average of 64. This week he scored heavily. Actually, in the match vs PBKS, he could score only 1, but then in the reverse fixture, he went on to score an unbeaten 73 in a winning cause.
Jos Buttler
GT had only one match last week, and Buttler was the hero of that match. Chasing 204, Buttler battled cramps to score an unbeaten 97, and took his team over the finish line. In seven matches, he has 315 runs to his name, and looks good for many more.
Suryakumar Yadav
After a slowish start to the season, Surya has just churned out a few consistent scores. Against SRH, he came up with 26, and then followed it up with an unbeaten 30-ball 68, taking his side to a massive win against CSK. He has 333 runs overall in the tournament.
Will Jacks
Though Jacks has been inconsistent, he made an entry into the team of the week, with a special performance against SRH, where he not only scored 36 runs, but also chipped in with the ball, and took two crucial wickets of Travis Head and Ishan Kishan.
Axar Patel
Not only his captaincy showing great results for DC, but he also did well in the last week, albeit with the bat. In two matches he returned with valuable contributions of 34 and 39, and picked up a wicket too. He hasn’t been as effective as a bowler, but then everything seems to be alright with the team. Oh, and he is also the captain of this team.
Tim David
He isn’t the best batter in the RCB team, but then still, he just did enough in the match vs PBKS, to deserve a spot here. IN the home fixture, when his team was reeling at 42/7, he came up with an explosive knock of 50, and took the side to 95. Totally worthy of the spot.
Marco Jansen
In the three matches for his team, he was quite good, especially with the ball. In the encounter against KKR, he returned with figures of 3/17, and then vs RCB, he bagged 2/10. Then in the reverse fixture, he could not bag a wicket, but chipped in with the bat, and scored 25 not out.
Avesh Khan
Even if Avesh had not bagged all the wickets he did, last week, he would have still made the cut. Simply because he managed to defend 9 runs in the last over vs RR. Just for the record, he finished with figures of 3/37 in the match, and had even bagged 1/32 vs CSK in the previous match.
Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh has to be the best bowler of IPL 2025 till now. Of course he is the purple cap holder too, but he has just carved a new identity for himself this year. In 7 matches he has 14 wickets. In GT’s only match vs DC last week, he returned with figures of 4/41.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Prior to this week, Chahal was poor. But then it was a complete turnaround for him in the last three matches. He dented KKR with 4/28, bagged 2/11 vs RCB, and then also got 1/36 against the same team in Mullanpur. Now he has nine wickets in eight matches of the tournament.
