Rohit Sharma first Mumbai Indians player to 6000 runs, slams 50 vs Rajasthan Royals

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the only two players with 6000+ runs for a single franchise in T20 cricket.

Rohit Sharma continued his rich vein of form in IPL 2025 with yet another masterclass on Thursday. A day after his 38th birthday, Rohit became the first Mumbai Indians player to score 6000 IPL runs. The Hit-Man is by far MI’s leading run scorer, and is only the second player to score 6000+ runs for a franchise in T20 cricket.

Record-breaking Rohit Sharma leads MI charge

After a sedate start to his IPL 2025, Rohit Sharma has turned a corner in his campaign. The 38-year-old has three half-centuries in his last 4 innings. In the RR vs MI clash, Sharma stitched a century stand with opener Ryan Rickelton to put MI on top. In the process, Rohit leapfrogged the 6000 mark for Mumbai Indians, further highlighting his legacy with the franchise.

Rohit is the first MI player to reach 6000 runs. He was incidentally the first to 5000 and the 4000 run milestones as well. The next best in the list for Mi is Kieron Pollard, who retired with 3915 runs. Among active cricketers, Suryakumar Yadav has 3460 to his name.
