So, the SRH was LSG match was rather inconsequential, where Pat Cummins’ team came up with an excellent 205-run chase against Rishabh Pant’s men. It was the same old story for Lucknow, where the skipper failed not only with the bat, but tactically too, to be knocked out of the IPL 2025. As for Hyderabad, they were already out, and now just registered their fourth victory in this year.
GT Looks Clear for Qualifier 1
While GT, RCB and PBKS have already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs, now it remains to be seen — who among DC and MI make the cut. Hardik Pandya’s men are in fourth with 14 points, and Axar’s team is in fifth slot with 13 points. Both teams need to win their last two encounters; so it’s slightly challenging for DC for now, but nothing can be said for certain, as to who would qualify.
Close Call Between PBKS & RCB
Having said that, now, the race to qualifier 1 has become much more interesting. Only 1 point separates the top three teams, while only the top 2 teams get a chance to qualify for the finals directly — through qualifier 1. So, what are the chances? Let’s just start by saying, based on current form, GT and RCB — the current top two look set to play in Qualifier 1.
GT has won their 9 matches in 12 played and lost only three. IN fact, they have lost only 1 game in the last 5 played, and all their batters and bowlers are in top performers of the league. Sai Sudharsan is the orange cap holder with 617 runs in 12 outings, closely followed by Shubman Gill at 601 in as many matches. As for bowlers, Prasidh Krishna is at the top bowler in the league with 21 wickets in 12 matches. As per X user and data scientist Krishna Kumar, their possibility of making top 2 is 82 %.

MI and DC Almost Out of Qualifier 1 Race
Next on the list is RCB, who haven’t lost any match in their last 5. 8 wins out of 12 matches is what they have; similar as PBKS. Bengaluru just inch ahead a touch with a superior NRR. Their chances are 59% and 52% respectively. Patidar’s men have a match against SRH, followed and KKR, while PBKS have two left vs DC and MI. Pubjab’s matches are tougher for sure here.
Lastly, MI and DC too have the slightest of chances to make it to the Qualifier 1. Not only will they have to win their remaining two, but win with unprecedented margins, and also hope that GT and RCB/ PBKS lose by magnificent margins. Though the theoretical possibility is 3-5% only, but practically, it’s 0.
