IPL 2025 is finally IPL-ing for Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians star hits consecutive 50s after 9 years!

Rohit Sharma started his IPL 2025 with a horrible form but has now led the franchise from the front.

It just isn’t a coincidence that the Mumbai Indians (MI) have put up a string of performances at recent times in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. One of the major puzzles that has been fixed for them is that talisman Rohit Sharma has found form and how!

Rohit Sharma hits purple patch

The former MI skipper started his IPL 2025 on a terrible note, scoring just 56 runs in the first five matches at an average of 11.20. However, since MI have started winning, Rohit has been a different player all along. He’s been a major part of MI’s success at IPL 2025, scoring 171 runs at an average of 171.00 and at an SR of 162.8 in three outings. Although he didn’t get a big score, Rohit showed his class in his cameo against SRH in the reverse fixture. Then came his best knock of the tournament, hitting a magnificent 76* against arch-rivals CSK.

Now, he has backed it up with another superb showing, this time against SRH once again. Rohit loves batting at the Uppal Stadium, and he continued his love affair, hitting another fifty while chasing. With this, he clobbered two back-to-back fifties for the first time in the last nine years in IPL history! The last time he did it was in 2016.

On a track where the SRH batters faltered completely, Rohit never looked unsure. In fact, he negotiated the likes of Pat Cummins and clever bowling of Jaydev Unadkat in the powerplay. Although losing Ryan Rickelton early, Rohit took the game on and in fact, was the best batter of the day. Yes, he may not have come up with an ultra-attacking blitz, but the surface was such that Rohit did what was needed to be done. He completed his 44th IPL fifty in 35 balls.
