IPL 2025: Full list of overseas players with their availability status (Updated)

IPL 2025: Even the tournament is scheduled to start in a few days from now, teams are still not certain, if their key overseas players will be available or not.

The IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17, but then unfortunately the status of foreign stars is still not known. Or at least, there is a lot of confusion surrounding the same. Call it fear, or the upcoming series’ in the international calendar, but some of the overseas stars will not make it for the rest of the tournament for sure, while a large chunk will still continue to play.

That means, a few teams are also likely to be impacted due to this. InsideSport takes a look at the current status of the all the foreign players, across all teams.

Batting Woes for MI?

The biggest challenge for MI would be to replace the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks, who won’t be available after the group stages. The duo has scored 336 and 195 runs in the tournament so far, and their departure could disrupt the balance of the team. All-rounder Corbin Bosch will also leave on May 26 as Cricket South Africa has recalled all WTC Final-bound players by May 30.

No Hazlewood Means No IPL Title for RCB?

Perhaps the biggest blow could come RCB’s way. The team looked poised for their first ever title before the break. And now, Bethell won’t be available after May 25, and a similar situation would be the case for Lungi Ngidi. But where it would hurt the most is, that their best bowler, Josh Hazlewood would be absent altogether. He has 18 wickets in 10 matches only.

But as per a fresh report on Thursday, it seems that the Aussie quick is coming to India. Confusion still persists.

Clouds Over DC, Mitchell Starc Doubtful

Jake Fraser-McGurk has confirmed that he won’t return for the remaining matches. While DC have announced Mustafizur Rahman, he has not received NOC from Bangladesh. Instead, he will play in the series against UAE and Pakistan. Hence, he is also doubtful. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc is unlikely for the remaining matches as he is yet to confirm his availability. Tristan Stubbs will join the team but he will only be available for the league stage.

Doesn’t Matter Who’s In, Who’s Out?

Once again, SRH are out, so it does not matter who plays for them, or not. Travis Head and Wiaan Mulder play till the last league match, along with Pat Cummins. Having said that, hopefully, the team will come up with improved performances in the remaining fixtures.

Kolkata Well-Covered, But Chances Very Slim

Their main players, Quinton De Kock, Russell, Sunil Narine, Moeen Ali and Nortje are all going to play. But with only 5-10% chance of playoffs qualification, they should only be looking to win their remaining matches. That’s it.

LSG to be Hit Hard, But Qualification Out of Question

The team is still not out of the competition, but then there isn’t much for them in IPL 2025. Having said that, their main men, Markram and Marsh, will play all league matches. If in case, they go forward, Miller and Pooran are available.

Best Team GT Sure to Suffer

They are title contenders and without Buttler and Rabada, their chances will be highly impacted. Buttler has 500 runs in 11 matches. Rabada had only played two, but then he is an excellent bowler. So the team ideally would have wanted him. A report says Buttler will play till the leagues, and will be relaced by Kusal Mendis for the playoffs.
