It wasn’t the best return to cricket for Virat Kohli on March 22. Having last played in January, the star RCB batter looked out of sorts in the IPL 2024 opener. Having opened the batting, the former skipper failed to get going. By his high standards, Kohli was nowhere near his best.
Luckily, he still has 13 matches to prove his mettle. But he would like to kick off another successful season in the RCB vs PBKS match at his home ground, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The star batter decided to hit the nets and get ready before the RCB’s first match at home with opening partner and current skipper Faf du Plessis.

There’ll be two major things on Virat Kohli‘s mind: the IPL trophy and the T20 World Cup 2024. Despite tasting success with the bat, the batter has failed to lift the prestigious IPL trophy. Playing his 17th season with the RCB, it’s high time that the batter takes his side to glory once before he eventually hangs up the boots.
The T20 World Cup will be at the top of his priority list. Having been out of the shortest format for India for nearly 14 months, many assumed we had seen the last of the two-time T20 World Cup ‘Player of the Tournament’. But in January, he received a lifeline. Now, all Kohli would be thinking about is having a bumper IPL 2024 season and going into the big event with form on his side.
