Virat Kohli dismissal: Star Sports panelist disagrees with Star Sports verdict

Kohli was infuriated after the waist-high full toss was deemed a fair ball, and he had to walk back. Since then, a detailed analysis of how and why he was adjudged out has emerged.

Virat Kohli’s dismissal has opened a can of worms. Fans and experts are at odds over whether the controversial decision was fair or not. Star Sports commentator and analyst, Navjot Singh Sindhu, has come out to criticize the IPL and the third umpire for the poor decision.

Sidhu vs Star Sports

What’s fascinating is that Star Sports themselves put out a detailed analysis as to why the decision to adjudge Virat Kohli out was the right call. Sindhu labeled the decision a howler, claiming that Kohli was on his toe and outside the crease by six inches while the ball made contact with him at least 1.5 feet over his waist.

Why Virat Kohli’s dismissal was fair

After the end of the two matches on April 21, Star Sports put up a detailed explanation as to why the third umpire was right. Not just that, but another Star Sports commentator and analyst, Irfan Pathan, also backed the decision. That means that Sidhu is either not aware of the new no-ball rule that was implemented before the IPL 2024 season or wants it to change.
