Ruturaj Gaikwad likely to be fined Rs 12 lakh for IPL’s code of conduct breach

Gaikwad will be the sixth skipper to be fined in the IPL 2024 season. Due to it being his offence, he'll be fined Rs 12 lakh and given a warning.

Slow over-rate continues to plague the IPL 2024 season. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to get a slap on the wrist from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) for violating the IPL’s minimum over-rate regulations.

First offence: A 12 lakh fine for Ruturaj Gaikwad?

Being his first offense, the opener is likely to get away with a Rs 12 lakh fine. At the end of the 18th over of the LSG vs CSK match, while defending 177, the giant screen showed that CSK was 15 minutes behind the supposed time. Following this, the officials penalized the team, and Ruturaj was forced to bring an extra fielder inside the 30-yard circle.
