The 17th season of the IPL is here and reigning Champions Chennai Super Kings are all set to defend their trophy. Despite handing over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaokwad, MS Dhoni as a veteran will also be under a lot of pressure as CSK look for their record sixth trophy.
However, amid the intense practices and clashes, MS Dhoni opted for a little me-time. The former CSK captain was spotted riding his e-bike through the streets of Chennai.
MS Dhoni hands over captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad:
End of an era! Dhoni had stepped down as captain of the Chennai Super Kings, with Ruturaj Gaikwad being chosen as the new captain ahead of the 2017 IPL season. Dhoni, who had led CSK to five IPL titles, was available as a player throughout the season.

While the decision to replace the captain on the eve of the season may have surprised some, the Super Kings had been preparing Gaikwad for the post. Dhoni had handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja just days before the start of the new season in Maharashtra in 2022. However, the plan had backfired, with Jadeja stepping down as captain midway through the season and Dhoni retaking leadership.
CSK get a good start to IPL 2024:
The defending Champions Chennai Super Kings started their IPL 2024 journey on a high. They opened their season with a stellar 4-wicket win over RCB. Chennai followed that with a thrilling 63-run win over Gujarat Titan. Now CSK will travel to Vizag to take on Rishabh Pant and co on 31st of March as they look to keep their momentum.
