Riyan Parag suffered the wrath of Rajasthan Royals fans with yet another poor show with the bat at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Brought back into the side, Parag and Rajasthan both needed an innings of substance. The hosts were struggling when Riyan walked into bat, needing for a rescue job. The 21-year-old however did not help his case, getting dismissed for just four runs of six deliveries. He was completely foxed by Rashid Khan and also burned a review trying to save himself.
In the six matches this season, Parag has a high score of 20 against Punjab Kings in Guwahati. He has four single-digit scores, while his strike rate is 107.41. He averages 11.60 this season, testing the patience of Rajasthan Royals fans across the country. Such was the sentiment, that many labelled him as a ‘fraud’ and the worst player in IPL history.
Riyan Parag wasted a sub, wasted a review and wasted 10 minutes.

Rajasthan have shown immense faith in his ability over the years. Parag made his debut for the franchise in 2019 and has been on their books since then, playing regularly. In his IPL career, the 21-year-old has scored a paltry 580 in 53 games, at an underwhelming average of 16.11. His overall career strike rate of 122.88 is also way below par for the role he plays with Rajasthan Royals.
