IPL Regional Language Commentary: According to report by Cricbuzz, BCCI has informed the broadcasters that besides English, they will need to provide commentary in four regional languages, one of them being Hindi.
Besides that, it has also been conveyed by the board that the operational cost of commentary in Hindi and the other three regional languages will have to be borne by the broadcasters themselves.

The English commentary feed, on the other hand, will be provided by the BCCI themselves. This subsequently means that while the English commentary will be same on board Disney Star and Viacom18’s live coverage, the commentary teams of regional languages will be different.
Besides the matches themselves, this clause also applies to the telecast and live stream of auctions. Meanwhile, BCCI pocketed a total of Rs 48,390 crore from the sale of the four packages. Package A went to Disney Star, Viacom18 bought Package B & Package C, while Times Internet got their hands on Package D.

IPL Media Rights Auction Highlights:
- BCCI has received a total of Rs 48,390 crore from all four packages.
- Disney-Star retained Package A Broadcast rights for a whopping Rs 23,575 Cr almost double the amount they paid last time for digital and broadcasting rights combined.
- Viacom has paid a whopping Rs 20,500 Crore for digital rights.
- Last time, Broadcast and Digital rights were sold combined.
- Viacom has also bagged the non-exclusive Package C for Rs 3,273 Cr for 98 matches.
- The base price was Rs 15 crore per match and it ended up Rs 33.40 Cr per game.
- Times Internet has bagged Package D, catering to MENA & US territory.
