IPL 2023: Ashwin feels LSG will target Stokes, and if they don’t get the all-rounder, they will look for other players – Ashwin believes LSG will go after Stokes, due to his match-winning abilities, and all-round skills. LSG have a purse of 23.35 Crores remaining. They have let go of Jason Holder and will look to target Stokes, who offers dual roles.
“Lucknow Super Giants will definitely go for Ben Stokes. Only if they don’t get him, they will go for other players,” Ashwin said on his official YouTube channel.
Another reason why LSG will target Stokes is that he played for the Sanjeev Goenka team in 2017. Stokes also won MVP that season, scoring over 400 runs and taking 11 wickets.

· Apart from LSG, Ashwin feels CSK will go after Stokes since they don’t have a genuine all-rounder.
· The India off-spinner opines that CSK might also target Sam Curran and Cameron Green.
· PBKS, SRH, and MI also will try to get Stokes owing to the huge purse left in the tank.
· SRH have 42.25 crores still left, while PBKS and MI go in the auction pool with 32.20 and 20.55 crores respectively.
· MI don’t have Keiron Pollard for IPL 2023 season, while SRH are looking for a quality captaincy leader as they let go of Kane Williamson.
“CSK will go for Sam Curran from the Marquee list. They won’t get him.
“They will go all-out on Ben Stokes as well. They won’t get him as well. They will also go for Cameron Green,” added the 36-year-old.
