Nicholas Pooran took the Cocrico bowlers to the cleaners, scoring an unbeaten 53 from 14 deliveries. His knock was comprised of as many as eight sixes. The 26-year-old’s form will be a major relief for the Sunrisers Hyderabad management, who had previously received a lot of flak for spending INR 10.75 crore on the Caribbean wicketkeeper-batter at the IPL 2022 auction.
Pooran’s sensational half-century against the Cavaliers came a few days after he played another blistering knock in this competition, as he smashed a 37-ball century against Scarlet Ibis Scorchers. Before coming into this competition, Pooran has scored three consecutive half-centuries against India.
