Sanju Samson’s blistering knock of unbeaten 46 off 19 balls included hitting five fours and three sixes. In the process, he went on to go past the milestone of 5000 T20 runs.

It was only in the 16th over when Sanju Samson needed to come out and bat. The stage was set by Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal who smashed 155 runs opening stand, RR’s highest ever.
Sanju Samson needed just 11 runs to achieve the 5000-run milestone and he content with taking singles. In fact, his knock included just 6 singles four dot balls. But his knock was crucial as Jos Buttler departed in the 19th over with Sanju Samon needing to score at brisk rate.

It was in the 18th over when he stepped on the accelerator, smashing Khaleel Ahmed for 20 runs. In the 19th over, against Shardul Thakur, he hit 17 runs to take the score to 222/2, Rajasthan Royals’ third-ever highest total in IPL history.
As for the match, Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal did the heavy lifting. With 65-ball 116, Buttler became the runaway leader of IPL 2022 Orange Cap race. It was his 3rd century of IPL 2022 while Padikkal played a brilliant knock of 54 off 35 balls.

It would not be fair to say that bowlers did the rest but Ravichandran Ashwin and Prasidh Krishna definitely left their marks. Prasidh Krishna bowled a wicket-maiden over in the 19th as while Ashwin got the wicket of Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan to put pressure on DC.
In the end, Rovmann Powell gave RR a huge scare when he smashed first three balls of the 20th over for consecutive sixes but Obed McCoy held on to his nerves as RR managed a 15-run win.
