Shane Watson Joins DC – 40 year old Watson retired from the league after playing IPL 2020 for CSK. The champion opening batsman has always been considered huge CSK loyalist. But on insistence of Ponting he has decided to shift camps to DC.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Delhi Capitals Head Coach Ricky Ponting convinced Watson to join DC as team’s assistant coach. The report confirms that Watson has agreed to the deal & will replace Mohammed Kaif in DC Camp.
The 40-year-old Queenslander is a two-time IPL winner. Watson won the inaugral IPL 2008 with Rajasthan Royals and IPL 2018 with Chennai Super Kings.

Shane Watson Joins DC – Ajit Agarkar Delhi Capitals: After IPL 2022 auction, Watson will be second big name support staff hiring by DC.
Earlier on Tuesday, the IPL 2020 runner-up brought former Indian speedster Ajit Agarkar to its coaching line-up. Agarkar’s official designation will be Assistant Coach but he will primarily work with DC’s fast bowling unit.
It is worth noting that the IPL team from Delhi already has James Hopes in ranks as team’s bowling coach.
GMR & JSW Sports owned team has already parted ways with former Indian player Mohammad Kaif and Ajay Ratra, the assistant coaches from last season.
None of these developments have been officially announced or confirmed by Delhi Capitals management as yet.
