The right-hand batter has been linked with this name right since his international debut in 2012. Maxwell had a breakthrough series against Pakistan in UAE. Wade and Pietersen started calling him the ‘Big Show’. Soon after Michael Clarke took this name to the Press and the name got forever struck with Maxwell. While speaking to Daish Sait on the RCB Podcast, the all-rounder has also revealed that he tried to get rid of it, but the media started using Big Show in their headlines.

After a string of poor IPL seasons for Punjab Kings, Maxwell finally lived up to the promise of Big show as he had a breakthrough season with RCB in IPL 2021. He scored 513 runs and was the leading runs-corer for RCB.
