“Punjab Kings haven’t won a title yet, so its all about belief at the start of the competition. We watched a motivational movie – 14 peaks. This was the first peak, 13 more to go. All of us were really motivated after watching the movie” revealed Odean Smith.

PBKS beat RCB HighlightsPBKS Watched 14 Peaks: Punjab Kings has never won the IPL Title. Just before the 1st match vs RCB coach Anil Kumble decided to have a team bonding session. During this session, the entire team watched ‘Highly Motivational’ movie 14 PEAKS.

The idea behind the screening was also very unique. In the movie Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja attempt to climb all 14 eight-thousander peaks.

PBKS Watched 14 Peaks: After the movie, Kumble told the PBKS Squad that for making IPL Playoffs as well team needs to win 14 matches – exactly the same manner as the mountaineer conquers 14 peaks.

“We were stressing on having a good start. It was all about belief that once we had a good start we had the power in the back end” Player-of-the-match Smith said after the five-wicket win over RCB.

“Punjab Kings haven’t won a title yet, so its all about belief at the start of the competition. We watched a motivational movie – 14 peaks. This was the first peak, 13 more to go,” he added.

What is 14 Peaks all about? ‘14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible’ is a 2021 documentary film directed by Torquil Jones.

The film follows Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja and his team. The DAREDEVIL teamattempt to climb all 14 eight-thousander peaks within a record time of under 7 months.

  • “Two points for us is very important. Good wicket. Very good wicket as both sides scored 200 plus. One or two balls held up but nothing apart from that. Credit to the way we finished,” said Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal in the post-match presentation.

Punjab Kings now plays Kolkata Knight Riders in their 2nd match. PBKS vs KKR will be played on 1st April.
