My Main Man – Hardik shared a message reading “My Main Man” with two photos where both were seen sharing a selfie. Both Hardik and Dhoni were in their training kits during the picture as teams prepare for the clash. Hardik was brought into the Indian national team when MS Dhoni was still part of the fraternity as he terms him the master.
Good start to the campaign for Hardik – While there were question marks on Hardik’s captaincy skills at the start of the season, there will hardly be any now as he reaps rewards for good start. GT have started on a positive note as they are top of the pile with eight points, having lost only one encounter so far. Hardik has impressed in the early days of his reign as captain.

Orange Cap in sight – The GT skipper’s impressive form has been underlined by his batting form, having amassed 228 runs which includes an 87-run knock as well. The former Mumbai Indians (MI) player is third in the Orange Cap standings, behind KL Rahul (235) and Jos Butler (272 runs).However, having been ruled out of the latest clash against CSK he won’t be overtaking both Rahul and Butler.
MS Dhoni and CSK look to turn fortunes – While GT have been in stellar form, CSK have endured a tough start to IPL 2022. CSK have won only one of their four matches, a solitary victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). While Dhoni is no longer the captain of the CSK side, he still has great admirers like Hardik around him.
