According to reports in Economic Times, Dhoni has decided to produce a Tamil film and is currently in the process of forming and finalizing his team for the mega project. Dhoni has also signed renowned actress Nayanthara to play the female lead, and the official announcement of the film is expected to come after the conclusion of IPL 2022.

Notably, Dhoni has previously been associated with cinema as well, as his Bollywood biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ set the box office on fire when it was released in 2016. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput played the character of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup-winning Indian skipper, while Kiara Advani starred in the role of his wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni.

Meanwhile, the presence of Nayanthara in this film is expected to create a massive hype in the audience, given her popularity in the southern parts of India. She currently has five films lined up to release inside the next one year or so – O2, Gold (directed by Sumangali Unnikrishnan), Godfather, Connect and an untitled film, which will mark her debut in Bollywood. She is acting opposite Shah Rukh Khan in that movie which is being directed by Atlee.
