The team posted a video on its official social media handles, where the special jerseys were unveiled with the caption, “This one’s for you, Maa” Now that’s how you prepare for Mother’s Day – the Super Giant way.”
While many teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have sported special jerseys for a particular match, this will be the first time in the history of IPL, a team will wear jerseys with the names of the players’ mothers.
The match between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders is scheduled to be played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium at Pune on Saturday. This will be the first-time these two teams will face each other. LSG enters the contest with confidence with a three-match win streak. The team led by KL Rahul is just a win away from ensuring a spot in the playoffs as they are currently on the second spot with 7 wins from 10 matches.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders have struggled this season by winning four matches out of 10 games played so far. They are at the eighth spot in the points table and need to win all their remaining matches to stand any chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
