MCA successfully organizes the IPL – The MCA were credited to have successfully organized the IPL 2022, with the ground staff working in shifts to maintain the quality of pitch and ground. While there was no match interrupted by rain, the ground staff still had work to do to maintain the playing conditions and carry the smooth passage of the matches.
“We’ve witnessed some high octane games and I would like (to) thank each one of them for their hard work. 25 lacs each for CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil and MCA, Pune. 12.5 lacs each for Eden and Narendra Modi stadium,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said.
From mosquitoes to Five-Star rooms- During the IPL 2022, the MCA had tied up with Cadbury which enabled the groundsmen of Wankhede Stadium to stay in five-star hotel. The company took care of the lodging and travelling on match days as the support staff enjoyed rich hospitality.
Earlier the staff had to spend the nights before the match in a stadium room full of mosquitoes. The latest season saw the groundstaff enjoy rich amenities.

Three venues in Mumbai part of the IPL 2022-
The three venues –Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium were home for 10 IPL teams for two months. While Wankhede and DY Patil hosted IPL league games, the Brabourne Stadium was a practice ground for four teams on a daily basis.
With successful hosting of the IPL 2022, the MCA will now be gearing up for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup for 50 overs. Mumbai will be a prominent venue for the tournament as it will serve yet another opportunity for the MCA and its groundsmen to show their work culture.
