“Well, it is a concern, you want your best players available, but international cricket should be the para-limit. Every cricketer should want to play international cricket for their countries so they have commitments that way. I think Cummins and Finch will miss the first five games but they will be cricket fit and cricket ready,” David Hussey said during a virtual press conference on Wednesday.

While Pat Cummins was confirmed to miss at least first three matches due to Australia’s Test series against Pakistan, it is yet not clear why he will miss additional matches. Australia’s Test series ends on March 25 and after three-day quarantine, Cummins was expected to be available from April 6 when the Cricket Australia NOC comes into effect. However, David Hussey has ruled him out for the first five games.

For Aaron Finch, who came in as a replacement for Alex Hales, the situation was clear. He was expected to be unavailable due to the white-ball series against Pakistan. The tour will end with the one-off T20 on April 5. With a three-day quarantine, ending on April 9, Aaron Finch will be available from KKR’s sixth match. Hussey, however, isn’t concerned.
“So, once they hit the ground running, both quality people and they will fit into the dressing room perfectly well,” Hussey said.
