Timeline – Batting on 23 off 10 deliveries, Maxwell looked in a good touch as attempted a reverse sweep which almost paid off. In the sixth over of the match, Krunal Pandya bowled him a ball outside which was destined for a four before Holder came up with the goods to take the outrageous catch. As a result Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were struggling in the early overs.

LSG dominate early – LSG have dominated the early proceedings as they established an upper-hand on the contest. Losing Anuj Rawat early was followed by a golden duck for Virat Kohli. By the time Maxwell was dismissed RCB were struggling at 44/3 while they later lost Suyash Parbhudessai as well, while captain Faf du Plessis was still in the middle.
