IPL Season 1 – 2008 Winner – Rajasthan Royals
The inaugural season of the Indian Premier League was won by the Rajasthan Royals. Back in 2008, RR was one of the iconic teams to win the trophy. With the legendary Shane Warne lifting the trophy and star performer Shane Watson winning the player of the series award, it was an all-out dominance from the Rajasthan Royals.
IPL Season 2 – 2009 Winner – Deccan Chargers
Deccan Chargers were the champions of the second season of the Indian Premier League. The erstwhile team was then headed by Australian wicketkeeping legend Adam Gilchrist. The DC skipper was also adjudged as the Man of the tournament.
IPL Season 3 – 2010 Winner – Chennai Super Kings
The reign of MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings began in 2010 as CSK went on to register their first-ever title win in IPL 2010, the third edition. CSK who were runners-up in season 1, took the title from their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. However, it was the maestro from MI, Sachin Tendulkar who ended up being adjudged as the Man of the series.

IPL Season 4 – 2011 Winner – Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings became the first team to defend the Indian Premier League title when they went on to win the prestigious trophy back in the year 2011. The MS Dhoni-led side defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals to lift the trophy but it was the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle who won the Man of the Series trophy.

IPL Season 7 – 2014 Winner – Kolkata Knight Riders
The 7th season of the Indian Premier League saw Gautam Gambhir lifting the IPL champions trophy a second time for the Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR defeated Punjab Kings in the finals to take the prize while Glenn Maxwell was adjudged as the Man of the Series.

IPL Season 9 – 2016 Winner – Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to clinch their maiden title win in 2016 as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high-scoring final. SRH skipper David Warner lifted the trophy for his side while RCB’s Virat Kohli went on to win the award for the Man of the Series after his stellar performance throughout the campaign.

The 2017 IPL campaign saw Mumbai Indians clinching their 3rd title as the Rohit Sharma-led-side defeated Rising Pune Supergiant in a low-scoring final. IPL Season 12 – 2019 Winner – Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians acquired their 4th title win as they defeated Chennai Super Kings in an El-Classico final in 2019. The fierce rivalry and competition between the two sides were potentially at their peak during this phase of the competition. Andre Russell picked up his second Man of the Series award this season.
IPL Season 13 – 2020 Winner – Mumbai Indians
The Rohit Sharma-led squad absolutely displayed their brilliance and strength by successfully defending their previous year’s title win.
