How Umran prepared for IPL? – Before the IPL 2022, Umran Malik made full use of the rest days during the Rani Trophy and focused on how he could have improved on his skills.
“On the rest days, I was preparing my yorkers, slower balls. Then I got 10 days off, and even after that I practised my slower balls, slower balls, yorkers, bouncers, good length balls, as full preparation was happening for the IPL,” Umran said in a video posted by SRH.

Backing of coaches – Umran was on the receiving end for opening two games as he conceded runs and was on the receiving end of criticism.
“In the next match, I conceded a few runs. Coaches told me not to be down, but wanted me to be positive. The coaches were positive about me, and I was really happy that they backed me, and that was a boost for me. And I started to perform in later stages,” Umran added.

Umran running for the fastest delivery of the IPL – Umran is currently in running for the contender of ‘fastest delivery of IPL’ with Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Lockie Ferguson. Umran currently holds the fastest delivery of the IPL with 154 kph and the race looks like will go down the wire. Umran has also scalped 15 wickets in the tournament and is four wickets shy of the Orange Cap.
