“Everyone is excited about Umran Malik. Anybody who bowls close to 150 kilometres an hours, that’s pretty exciting to watch,” Dale Steyn said.
Last year, Virat Kohli too said that Team India was keeping a close eye on Umran Malik due to his speed and he was even added to India’s net bowlers at the T20 World Cup.
“This tournament throws up talent every year, good to see a guy bowling at 150 clicks. It is important to understand the progress of individuals from hereon. The pool of fast bowlers being strong is always a good sign for Indian cricket and whenever you see talent like this, you are going to have your eyes on them and make sure you maximise their potential which is already being seen at the IPL level,” Virat Kohli said.
However, what is Umran Malik lacking is accuracy. The fast bowler hasn’t consistently bowled the line and lengths. In the first match, Umran was hit for 39 in four overs for two wickets while on Monday, he conceded 39 in three overs at 13.00 an over.
