In the two-day auctions, Mumbai Indians made Ishan Kishan most expensive player of 2022 auction with a Rs 15.25 Cr bid. CSK shelled out Rs 14 Cr to make him their most expensive auction pick. The pattern repeated almost all franchises barring the two new teams.

For CSK, the intentions were clear. They wanted to get as many players as possible back. While they failed to get Faf du Plessis back, they went all in for Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa.

The highest-priced player of IPL 2022 has to be the young wicket-keeping batter who joined Mumbai Indians for a staggering sum of 15.25 Crores. Mumbai Indians failed to retain Kishan after filling their retention slot of 4 players but broke the bank and handsomely paid the humongous price to rebuy their beloved player.

Dwayne Bravo: DJ Bravo found himself going under the hammer for a base price of 2 Crores. However, the Chennai Super Kings were quick to acquire the 38-year-old all-rounder from the West Indies who has been a vital part of the Chennai contingent.

Ambati Rayudu: Yet another homecoming for the Chennai Super Kings. Ambati Rayudu made a comeback to his previous team for a salary cap of 6.75 Crores and rejoined his former teammates Bravo, Uthappa, Chahar, and most importantly under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Wanindu Hasaranga: Wanindu Hasaranga made an unique return to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was brought on as a replacement in RCB last season in 2021 where he just made 2 appearances. With a base price of 1 Crore, he rejoined RCB for a price of 10.75 Crores.

Pat Cummins: Australian star pacer Pat Cummins joined the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2022. Cummins played 7 games in IPL 2021 and went under the hammer for a base price of 2 Crores. He was ultimately purchased by the Kolkata outfits for a price of 7.25 Crores.

Robin Uthappa: It has been a happy homecoming for Robin Uthappa, who rejoined the Chennai Super Kings at his base price of 2 Crores. Uthappa will rejoin his former teammates MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, and Deepak Chahar.

Nitish Rana: Once a Knight, always a Knight. Nitish Rana who played 17 matches for KKR in IPL 2021 went for a high price in IPL 2022 Auction. Going under the hammer for a base price of 1 Crore, Nitish Rana was eventually bought for a salary cap of 8 Crores.

Deepak Chahar: One of the most discussed names after Day 1 of IPL 2022 was Deepak Chahar. It was quite a surprise when Chennai Super Kings broke the bank for the first time in an auction and crossed the 10 Cr mark to eventually buy the all-rounder for a price of 14 Crores. Chahar who had a base price of 2 Crores will join his Rayudu, Bravo, and Uthappa in CSK.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is eager to get back to his finest form and perform well in the upcoming days was picked by his previous team Sunrisers Hyderabad. In IPL 2021, Bhuvneshwar Kumar played 11 matches for Hyderabad and had a base price of 2 Crores. He was ultimately sold for a price of 4.2 Crores.

Shivan Mavi: The 23-year-old bowling all-rounder had a huge price raise in IPL 2022. With a base price of just 40 lakhs, he rejoined his former side KKR where he played 9 games in IPL 2021 for a price of 7.25 Crores.
