IPL 2022 – Moody reflects on mistakes – The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Tom Moody has reflected on the team’s lacklustre start to the season as they have lost their opening two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL). SRH’s form this season has seen them rock-bottom, while making silly mistakes. Moody was seen having a conversation with the team in a video posted on SRH’s Twitter handle. Moody speaks on mistakes – “With three overs remaining, we had two set batters and with 33 needed, we needed to be compact. In last five overs we scored 37, while the opposition scored 56, that’s one difference in the game. The other simple difference was that, they got 12 doubles and we got six doubles. So our intensity in the middle was lacking despite knowing that this was big ground. We could have scored more runs and could have given ourselves a lift.”
SRH taking positives from recent defeats – “Only positive we can have from today is, we haven’t got the right result but we are going towards right direction. We are a step away from playing the brand of cricket we want to play and we can now grow from what we have. It is now down to the fine margins between winning and losing, and today we were on the wrong side because we couldn’t finish off in couple of areas we could have. We have couple of days, a chance to reflect, grow and a chance to go as a positive group.”

Upcoming challenges for SRH – On Saturday (April 9) SRH will meet another winless team CSK, as both teams try to get back to winning ways. Both SRH and CSK, finished at the opposite ends of the table last season but have endured poor fortunes this time around with no wins. This could be the perfect opportunity for the 2016 champions to get off the mark.
