IPL MOST EXPENSIVE overseas player of IPL 2022 – Given his current performances for England and also in franchise leagues, interest was always likely to be high on Livingstone. The bidding war initially started as a two-way battle between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, but owing to a shortage of funds, the former had to soon back out.
However, Punjab Kings did not have it easy as Sunrisers Hyderabad also joined the party and continued bidding till INR 11.25, but a subsequent bid of INR 11.50 crore sealed the deal for the Kings.

With this, Liam Livingstone has become the most expensive overseas player of the IPL 2022 auction, beating Wanindu Hasaranga and Nicholas Pooran’s price tag of INR 10.75 crore.

As for his numbers, the 28-year-old from Cumberland has scored 4095 runs in T20 cricket and 285 runs in T20Is for England. He also has 67 T20 wickets and 12 T20I wickets to his name.
