Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Former SRH pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a formidable part of the India squad across all formats. His form has fallen sharply and now he no longer finds a place among stars Mohd Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who have been consistent since their early days. He has managed just 9 wickets in 15 games in the last two editions of IPL. He also managed to scalp just 20 wickets in 21 T20Is in two years.  The 31-year-old might have lost his pace but comes with an experience of 132 IPL matches with 142 wickets under his belt.

Last IPL salary: Rs 8.5 crore

R Ashwin

R Ashwin might have once again become a part of all three formats for India but his performance doesn’t justify a place in IPL 2022. He managed to pick just 7 wickets in 13 matches in the last edition of IPL. However, he has been brilliant in Tests but the question is – Will the IPL franchise pick him on basis of Test performance? Having said that, Ashwin has played 167 matches and scalped 145 wickets at a brilliant economy rate of 6.91.

Last IPL salary: Rs 7.6 crore

Shikhar Dhawan

India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan finally makes his way to the India squad. After being sidelined from the T20s, the timely comeback in the 50-over side gives him the perfect platform to prove himself one more time. He was Delhi capitals highest run-getter in the last few IPL seasons with scores of around 500 more for the last 6 IPL editions. He has a record of 5784 runs from 192 matches which includes 44 fifties and a couple of centuries. He has the most fours in the history of IPL viz. staggering 624 boundaries.

Last IPL salary: Rs 5.2 crore

Yuzvendra Chahal

Former RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal emerged as the joint-highest wicket-taker alongside Rashid Khan among spinners in IPL 2021. Now, he will be vying for a hike in IPL 2022 salary for the next IPL cycle. He has played 114 T20s in IPL and scalped 139 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.59 despite spending the majority of his career at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
