CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed to InsideSport that the youngster is all fit and is practising in Surat well with the rest of the squad.
“Yes, Ruturaj is all fit. He has joined the squad and has begun practice. He is available for selection,” Viswanathan told InsideSport.

CSK have been struck with multiple crises ahead of their opener. Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu all suffered injuries while Moeen Ali is yet to get his visa for India.

The Orange Cap holder was instrumental in CSK’s fourth IPL title and was retained by the MS Dhoni-led franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction.
With Faf du Plessis joining rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore, Ruturaj Gaikwad will play the lead role in CSK’s opening alongside new recruit Devon Conway.

Deepak Chahar NOT AVAILABLE – However, things are not looking good with Deepak Chahar. CSK’s most expensive auction pick at Rs 14 Crore, Chahar is recovering from a hamstring injury and hasn’t got the clearance from the NCA.
However, CSK are not yet seeking a replacement for Chahar. Once they have clarity on Chahar’s availability, only then CSK will seek a replacement.
“We don’t know about Deepak Chahar. He is at the NCA and recovering from the injury. Once the National Cricket Academy gives him the all-clear, only then he will be able to join the squad. But we don’t know when that will happen. We are yet to get any update from the NCA,” Kasi Viswanathan told InsideSport.
