IPL 2021 LIVE: After 56 league matches, DC vs CSK in Qualifier 1 & RCB will take on KKR in eliminator: Follow Live updates

It is worth noting that even in Week 38 (i.e 1st week of IPL Phase 2), Star Sports 1 Hindi was at No. 3 in the top channels list.

Another important point to be noted is that entire IPL 2020 & IPL 2021 Phase 1 – the LIVE Broadcast of the league made Star Sports 1 Hindi No. 1 throughout the duration of the event.

After the completion of the 1st Week of Phase (i.e Week 38th), the official broadcasters & BCCI via a official release declared that the IPL 2021 is on track to deliver 400 million viewers’ mark on TV, for the fourth year in a row. The broadcaster had claimed that IPL 14 so far has garnered 380 million viewers until match 35 which is 12 million higher than IPL 2020 at the same stage.

DC vs CSK Qualifier 1 Head to Head: Rishabh Pant and Co. unbeaten in last four games, will Dhoni and CSK end their winless streak?

The broadcaster had further claimed that TV viewer aggregation is in fact higher than the last three editions of the tournament, since 2018. The consumption for VIVO IPL 2021 including Star Sports’ pre-match programming stands at 242 billion minutes. The broadcaster added that in the second phase of IPL 2021 viewer engagement levels were an average of 32 percent on a per match basis which is at par with IPL 2020.

But all these claims are not making Star Network’s flagship Sports Channel no. 1 on the rating charts.

IPL 2021: Dhoni & CSK still rules the roost with highest rated matches

Like always matches featuring MS Dhoni’s CSK & Mumbai Indians are the highest rated matches on BARC Charts. Especially CSK’s comeback this year led by Dhoni has gelled well with the audiences. The matches featuring CSK is seeing 2-3% increase.

The good part is CSK is getting followed not only in Chennai but their viewership has also topped the charts in five other states that don’t have an IPL franchise of their own – Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Whose matches are being watched the most?

Chennai Super Kings
Mumbai Indians followed by
Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals have ranked third, fourth and fifth in that order.
