IPL 2021 Final – Coach Stephen Fleming calls Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis real reason behind CSK’s success in IPL 2021 – Chennai Super Kings won their 4th IPL title beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final of IPL 2021. CSK’s Faf du Plessis was awarded as Man of the Match for his stellar show in the final. In the post-match press conference, CSK coach Stephen Fleming said that it was Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf’s opening partnership that help CSK win matches throughout the season.

“Yeah, I this Ruturaj is an absolute superstar already in my eyes, and if you look back to when we introduced him last year, people were little bit critical. But we had such high tabs and expectations on him. But what we didn’t understand, What Covid will do? And we really felt during last year and we’re really delighted that he finished the season so well. But he’s a wonderful kid. And, yeah, I think it’s an absolute superstar. His craft this year, he mastered opening the batting. He is one of the reasons we won the IPL. I couldn’t be happier for him. He’s a wonderful guy. And for a young player, his maturity is beyond this year,” CSK coach said.

Talking about the plans going ahead Fleming said that they have already started preparing for the next season and will look to continue CSK’s legacy.

“Yeah, Yeah, we are constantly looking ahead and teasing out what next year could look like. We take a lot of pride in our philosophies, and we constructed squads and teams, and every other franchise will be doing this as well. There is not a lot of time for the next IPL. So this tournament has been good to look at some talent and also reconfirm what we stand for and how we move forward. So there’s been a lot of discussions, and it’ll come around pretty quick. January will come around pretty quick, and hopefully, we can. We can put together another good side to carry on the legacy,” he added.
