Indian Premier League 2020 has already completed a month and while some teams have dominated the tournament with their superior performances, some have been struggling to find the right form and consistency.

On the same note, if any team has been brutally exposed in IPL 13 League that without any doubt is Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They are lying at the bottom of the points table and are practically out of the playoffs race.

The major reason behind CSK’s dismal performance in this season is the absence of young blood in their team.

Notably, Chennai is the oldest team in IPL 2020 with the average age of the squad above 31 and there are high chances that some of the players of the team are playing their last season of IPL in 2020 and won’t be around from next season.

Here, we take a look at five players from CSK who might be playing their last IPL in 2020:

Imran Tahir: Imagine being the leading wicket-taker of the last season and you still have to warm the bench. Well! That has been the case with the South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir. The 2019 IPL’s Purple Cap winner with 26 wickets, Tahir is yet to find a place in Chennai Super Kings‘ playing XI in this season.
Moreover, he is the oldest member of Dad’s army in the CSK’s side and by the time next IPL arrives, Tahir will be 42 years old. Hence, it is safe to assume that the leggie might call it quits after the end of IPL 2020.

Harbhajan Singh: The turbanator has been one of the most successful bowlers in the history of the league. However, the 40-year-old spinner skipped entire IPL 2020 due to personal reasons and it is possible that he retire from IPL after this season. Notably, Harbhajan is not playing professional cricket on a regular basis and age, not by his side, he might call it a day.

Also, the veteran is already through with his 3-year contract with CSK and it is highly unlikely that Chennai will extend or renew his contract.

Shane Watson: A two-time IPL winner with the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, Watson showed it in the finals of both 2018 and 2019 edition that form is temporary and class is permanent. However, the Australian has been inconsistent with the bat in IPL 2020 and has scored just 285 runs in 10 games so far. Considering, that Watson has stopped bowling and can play only as a pure batsman, the chances look dim for him to continue after the end of this year’s IPL. Also, he is 39-years-old and that might force him to make IPL 2020 his swansong.

Kedar Jadhav: Kedar has been in terrible form this season and because of that he has been even left out of the team for a couple of games. In 8 matches, Jadhav has 62 runs in five innings at 20.66 at a strike-rate of 93.93 with a best of 26. Not to forget his inexplicable intent in the run-chase versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he could only muster seven off 12 balls.

He is already 36 years old and CSK will be keen to get rid of him after IPL 2020. So, Kedar will most likely save his blushes and will hang up his boots in IPL after this season.

Dwayne Bravo: The all-rounder has been one of the most valuable players for CSK since he joined the franchise. However, the 37-year-old has been struggling with injuries for a long time now, due to which he is not able to give his best on the field. Bravo played six games in IPL 2020 in which he managed to pick just six wickets. Notably, he has been ruled of the tournament because of a groin injury and it’s the lack of fitness which might pressurize Bravo to quit IPL.
