Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will likely be regretting their decision to let go of champion captain Shreyas Iyer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction and purchase Venkatesh Iyer for a high price. Fans are trolling the franchise for what they see as a disastrous decision.
KKR picked wrong Iyer
KKR fans are slamming the team after back-to-back failures by their most expensive buy, Venkatesh Iyer, who was purchased for INR 23.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.
Iyer has managed to score only 135 runs in eight matches at an average of 22.50, with just one fifty and a highest score of 60.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer has accumulated 263 runs in eight games at an average of 43.83, including three half-centuries.
