There’s an inquiry being initiated into the allegations made by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). According to reports, The franchise accused the HCA of employing “blackmailing tactics,” particularly related to demands for additional complimentary tickets (free passes).
SRH’s allegations
Earlier, in a letter addressed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council, a high-ranking official from Sunrisers Hyderabad expressed concerns over the ongoing issues with the HCA. “I write with serious concern regarding the ongoing developments with the HCA and their repeated blackmailing tactics towards the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise,” the official stated.
The franchise asked for intervention from cricket’s governing bodies to address the situation and requested clarity on the allocation of complimentary passes, which are typically set at 5 percent of the total number.
Potential consequences
The SRH franchise warned that if the issue continued unresolved, they might consider moving their home matches to another state. This highlights the severity of the situation and the potential impact on the team’s operational plans.

HCA’s response
In response to the allegations, HCA president A Jagan Mohan Rao denied any such demands, claiming that the association had not engaged in any blackmailing or made inappropriate requests to the franchise. The HCA’s denial underscores the need for further investigation to ascertain the validity of the claims made by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
