The Indian cricket team got a scare on Saturday after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was hit on the wrist during practice ahead of the IND vs ENG Cricket World Cup clash at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.

While batting in the nets, Rohit was hit on his right wrist and was immediately attended by Team India physio. However, the extent of the injury is still not known.

Notably, Team India is already dealing wit Hardik Pandya’s injury who is set to be sidelined for at least next two matches due to ankle injury.

The IND vs ENG is set to be a special match for the 36-year-old as it will be Rohit Sharma’s 100th match as Team India’s captain. The Indian opener has been in red-hot form in the tournament so far. He has amassed 311 runs in five matches at an average of 62.20 so far. The senior batter will also have a chance to complete 18,000 runs in international cricket.

Rohit Sharma needs just 47 runs to become the fifth Indian player to reach 18 runs in international cricket.

Team India has done exceptional in this World Cup under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, winning all 5 matches they have played so far. With 10 points in 5 matches, a win against England will book Men in Blue’s spot in the semi-final of the tournament.
