IND vs ENG Test: Shreyas Iyer gets clearance for India squad selection by NCA despite being injured

The India Cricket Team has received a mighty blow. This time to injury again. Star batter Shreyas Iyer is expected to miss the remaining IND vs ENG Test matches. The player complained of stiffness in his back and pain in his groin while playing forward defense. However the BCCI Medical staff have likely cleared Iyer for selection.

On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer informed the team about his injury within days of the conclusion of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag. Now it is a precarious situation. The player is injured and is likely to miss the series. The Medical team has however cleared the player for selection.

It remains to be seen what the BCCI Selection Committee decides when they announce the India squad for the remaining 3 Test matches.

Now the player remains in a precarious situation. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given clearance for the player. As per reports, the medical team has claimed that Iyer is fit and available for selection. On the other hand, the player claims that he is injured.

Should Iyer be dropped, it means, the other players in the team get an extended run. In such a condition Rajat Patidar will have an extended stay in the team. If Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma decides to play bold, they might also give the much awaited Test debut to Sarfaraz Khan.
