Indian fans miss Ajinkya Rahane as youngsters falter in IND vs SA 1st Test

Veteran Ajinkya Rahane averages almost 40 in SENA countries.

Team India batters especially the young duo of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to apply themselves against a fired-up South African bowling line-up in IND vs SA 1st Test. Meanwhile, the fans on the internet came out in support of veteran Ajinkya Rahane stating that the right-handed batter should have been a part of the Test squad against South Africa.

Speaking about team India’s performance with the bat, Yashasvi Jaiswal (17 runs from 37 balls) and Rohit Sharma (5 runs from 14) opened for the visitors but both of them failed to make a mark and collapsed in front of the Proteas pacers. One of the main disappointments in the first session was Shubman Gill’s (2 runs from 12 balls) sloppy performance.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur got starts with the bat, but none of them managed to convert it to a big total. Senior batter KL Rahul completed a gritty fifty with the bat as the visitors managed to cross the 200-run mark in their first innings of the IND vs SA 1st Test.
