The Border Gavaskar Trophy has just ended and it was Australia who emerged victorious. On the other hand, the India Cricket Team managed to get a solitary win in Perth. Former India star Harbhajan Singh has claimed that had Jasprit Bumrah not been in the squad, India would have likely lost by a margin of 5-0 or 4-0.
It is without a doubt that Jasprit Bumrah has been the best player for India in the entire IND vs AUS Test series. He scalped 32 wickets in 5 Test matches and emerged as the highest wicket-taker of the series. Harbhajan Singh also claimed that Bumrah saved India in the Perth Test, the only game where India emerged victorious.
India’s Savior – Jasprit Bumrah
“If Jasprit Bumrah wasn’t in this tour, the series would have ended 5-0. Jassi saved India in Perth. After Adelaide, he saved India in the rest of the matches. If he wasn’t in the series, India would have lost by either 5-0 or 4-0,” Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel.
He further claimed that after the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide, Bumrah regularly turned up for his side saving the team on multiple occasions. Singh went on to claim that had Bumrah not been present in the series, then India would have lost it 5-0.

Jasprit Bumrah – MVP
Bumrah helped India make a stunning comeback in the Perth Test. India faltered early with the bat, but Bumrah went all guns blazing to put the visitors back on track. Eventually, in the second innings, three crucial knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli helped India pile up a massive total. Bumrah again sprang into action and helped his side win the first Test of the series.
However, that was the only good thing of the series. In the Tests that followed, it was Bumrah who only turned up while the rest of the team continuously faltered with the bat. Eventually, the series ended 3-1 in favor of the Aussies.
