Vandana Katariya scored a brace for India, while Gurjit Kaur also converted a goal via penalty corner. However, India conceded their first goal of the tournament when Xenna Hughes scored a goal for Wales in the third quarter. However they failed to stage a comeback. After their 5-0 victory over Ghana, India has clinched an impressive 3-1 victory and they will now aim for a similar kind of a show in order to make it to the knockouts.
Against Ghana India struggled in the attack and failed to convert penalty cormner chances. Against Wales, India’s performance has seen a good improvement as they had 56% possession, and dominated the entire game. They also registered 31 attack circle penetrations, compared to Wales. The penalty corner conversion too has been good as two goals came off the PC. Overall India has given a dominating performance which would give the team a much needed confidence moving ahead in the tournament.
